The KATflow 200 and 230: Flowmeters You Can Carry in One Hand

We take pride in being a dynamic master-distributor of a few top European manufacturers of control and measurement instrumentation. Of the products we offer, which include turbine flowmeters and ultrasonic flowmeters, some of the stand-out instruments are the clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters.

Our Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flowmeters

We offer two portable clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters. These flowmeters are the KATflow 200 and the KATflow 230. Each of these ultrasonic flow meters comes equipped with an intuitive menu and Setup Wizard that assist the user with meter configuration. Correct installation of these meters is realized through the incorporated Audible Sensor Positioning Assistant. This assistant delivers visual and auditory indicators throughout the installation process to assure proper mounting. Here are the shared specifications of both of these models:

So what sets them apart?

KATflow 200

The KATflow 200 is a powerful ultrasonic flowmeter. Its compact and robust design makes it ideal for confined spaces and industrial applications. The KATflow 200 is equipped with a rubber shock protector and an internal data logger. This data logger is offered in two sizes, being able to store 30,000 or 100,000 measurements. Each singular measurement is built of about ten units (which can be selected before measurement) used to express velocity, volume, and mass.

This model also comes equipped with the KATdata+ software, a flow data visualizer that allows users to view data in real-time or after collection.

KATflow 230

The KATflow 230 stands out in its ability to work complementarily with energy consumption surveys on heat exchangers, HVAC systems, heating and chilling lines, and boilers. The KATflow 230 has two measuring channels, offering multiple output options to data storage devices. It can also measure inputs for wall thickness and temperature of liquids, both up and downstream.

A KATFlow 230 model clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter is ideally used in construction and restaurant/ bar applications because of its ability to determine energy transmission.

Why Clamp-On?

Using a clamp-on device for your flow and temperature measurement applications enables the flowmeter to measure heat quantity outside of the pipe in a non-invasive, non-intrusive manner, allowing for:

  • No obstruction or interruption of flow
  • No pressure drop
  • No risk of leakage

Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are also cost-effective and versatile, making their application economic for businesses of all sizes.
