JLC International distributes multiple devices for usage with HVAC systems. Below is a review of the attributes of each transmitter we provide. With different qualities available, a selection can be made to accurately determine air velocity for HVAC systems.

The hot film, anemometer (HFA) is made of a thin, structured, metallic resistive film or “heater”, which is deposited onto a substrate. In the operating state of the HFA, the electrical power heats the heater up to a certain temperature. An airflow of ambient temperature cools the heater down until the equilibrium between the electrical Joule heat and the thermal heat loss is reached.

The higher the velocity, the higher the heat loss from the heater. The temperature difference depends further on the ambient temperature, which can change. Therefore, the air temperature is measured with an additional temperature sensor that is often part of a bridge circuit in order to compensate changes in the ambient temperature automatically.

The type of air velocity transmitters based on this measuring principle are called: Constant-Temperature-Anemometer (CTA).

The air velocity transmitters manufactured by E+E Elektronik are of the CTA type and are available in:
