JLC International distributes many different kinds of ultrasonic inline liquid flow meters for multiple types of industries and uses. Of which we are able to provide three different inline small bore ultrasonic flow meters:

  • Light-Duty Ultrasonic Flowmeter Atrato Series 700
  • Industrial Ultrasonic Flowmeter Atrato Series 70P
  • Chemical Inert Ultrasonic Flowmeter MetraFlow Series 240

This technology allows for an astonishing accuracy over very wide flow ranges across the whole span. With a rugged, clean bore construction, the ultrasonic inline flow meters are perfect for a wide-range of low flow applications. Furthermore, the USB connection of the Atrato flow meter series 700 and 240 allows monitoring the rate and total directly on a laptop for convenience and ease of use. One can alter the operating parameters for pulse resolution and units. This can make utilization of this flow meter a much easier task.

The MetraFlow stands out, the reason for its own label, because the flow tube is entirely made of Perfluoroalkoxy, better known as PFA, which makes the unit basically chemically inert.

Time of Flight Measuring System

The measurement of the low flow rates of liquids in small tubes is very hard with conventional transit time ultrasonic techniques for multiple reasons. If a diametrical beam is used, the defining equation for the transit time difference between the upstream/downstream directions has a constant proportionality, which includes the diameter of the tube. Therefore, as the tube diameter becomes smaller, the transit time difference for the given velocity becomes proportionally smaller.

The Atrato ultrasonic inline liquid flow meters use a time of flight measuring system that measures the upstream and the downstream flight times. Half the difference is the velocity of the fluid. This patented system is capable of measuring these time differences with an accuracy that is better than 250 picoseconds. Since the pipe geometry is known, the pulse output will be accurate for the volume passed. It is enhanced even further by the primary signal to noise ratio, typically at 2000:1, but ranging higher to 3000:1.
