Low Cost, Low Flow Turbine Flowmeters, Series 900 and 1000 – What You Need to Know

Flowmeters get us excited as engineers, we just can’t help it. That’s why we want to talk about our Series 900 and 1000 flowmeters with stainless steel threaded connections. There’s a lot that we want the industry to know about them so that the right decision can be made concerning applications. So, with that being said, let’s dive right into it and explore these low cost, low flow turbine flowmeters.

The 1000 and 900 Series flowmeters are designed to give competitive pricing and high performance with 6 flow ranges, from 0.05 to 15 liters per minute, for the 900 series and 7 flow ranges, from 0.05 to 30 liters per minute, for the 1000 series. The combination of a stainless steel body and a PVDF interior makes these options ideal for the metering of aggressive chemicals and ultra-pure water. The standard inlet for the series 900 is ¼” NPTF, while it is ½” NPTF for the series 1000. However, alternatives are available for OEM use. The bearings are made of sapphire for reliability and long life and the ‘O’ ring seal is Viton™.

The low inertia, high-pressure version of the 900 Series turbine flowmeter is manufactured by Titan Enterprises, an engineering company that has over 40 years of experience in developing and producing flowmeters. JLC International supplies the Turbine flow meter series by Titan Enterprises to a broad range of market sectors. In the center of the 900 Series turbine is a freely rotating precision turbine that contains encapsulated ceramic magnets. The ceramic magnets are detected by a Hall effect detector through the chamber wall. The NPN pulse output is readily interfaced with most recording or electronic display devices. This combination of technology and materials ensures a reliable flowmeter that will last.

While the flow ranges and pulses, such as the accuracy, frequency and K-factors, vary depending on the model that you choose, the following features and technical specifications apply to both the 900 and 1000 Series:

  • Measurement down to 50 ml/min (0.013 gpm)
  • Viscosity/particles: up to 10 cP / less than 90 micron
  • Pressure rating 10 bar (145 psi); 40 bar (580 psi) optional
  • Calibration: fully calibrated for water @ 20 °C (68 °F), including calibration certificate with K-factors
  • Temperature rating: -25 °C (-13 °F) up to 125 °C (257 °F)
  • Seals: Viton O ring – Nitrile, EPDM and Silicon optional
  • Power supply: 4.5 – 24 Vdc; 7.5 mA typical
  • High accuracy and repeatability
  • Pulse output NPN or PNP (optional)
